Our microcredit products are designed to meet the needs of those who are unbanked or underbanked. Emeraid target people that do not qualify for a loan from a formal financial institution due to lack of capacity, collateral and the micro nature of their enterprises. The product provides an opportunity for such people who are financially excluded or underserved. They are required to form groups to access financial services as each member of the group, is liable for the loan of other members. Our microcredit products include Group Loans, Daily Loans, and Micro Leasing.
The group loan is designed specifically for women and youth who are willing to form themselves into a group of 6 – 25 to obtain a loan for productive purposes. The credit is targeted at small businesses, artisans, and other income-generating activities within the agricultural value chain. We also act as a go-between farmer and traders in the market to reduce the number of middle men in the food commodity distribution chain.
